Refund & Return Policy Wizard

The Refund & Return Policy wizard generates a clear refund policy for your app or digital products.

What you'll be asked

  • Product types - in-app purchases, subscriptions, one-time digital products
  • Refund window - how many days after purchase a refund can be requested
  • Refund methods - original payment method, store credit, etc.
  • Exceptions - products or situations not eligible for refunds
  • Contact method - how users request a refund

When you need a refund policy

A refund policy is required or strongly recommended if your app:

  • Offers in-app purchases or subscriptions
  • Sells digital content (themes, templates, credits)
  • Operates in the EU, where consumers have legal refund rights

Running the wizard

  1. Go to your app's Home
  2. Find the Refund Policy row in the compliance checklist
  3. Click Add page (or Generate, if the page already exists)
  4. Fill in the questionnaire and submit
  5. Finish with Publish & open editor to go live and review, or Save as draft to keep it private

Refund Policy is an extended page type. If it isn't part of your plan, Add page opens an upgrade prompt instead - see Plans & Limits.

App store considerations

Note that Apple and Google have their own refund policies for purchases made through their payment systems. Your refund policy should be consistent with - or reference - their policies where applicable.
